RENOVATING ADVERSITY INTO OPPORTUNITY

If God closed one door, he opened several windows for the Event Managers!!!

The World of Events has now become Virtual. Before Pandemic event industry was one of the fastest growing industry but post pandemic things changed completely. With so many restrictions in place, it has become impossible to do lavish big events with packed stadiums, auditoriums or banquet halls. The changed scenario is very limited and few event managers have been able to sustain this.

But if you see the transforming curve there is a lot to learn. Pre-Covid everything was face to face and physical, the new events are all happening in small numbers or on the digital platforms. Be it education, concerts, weddings, work, “God closed one door but opened many windows for event managers”

Event Management is a profession where you are a Solution Provider, a Disaster Manager and a Problem Solver, so change was quick and professionals across the globe foresaw the grim future of physical events and got onto developing new ways of holding Virtual Events. The duration of the virus is uncertain and you cannot wait till it finishes completely. According to a report 96% event professionals have faced cancellations and 50% planners or suppliers expect this to impact their economic growth. Many have departed the industry already but few tried to open new doors, create opportunities to see the whole event management business from a new perspective.

As of November 2020, 73% event managers have transitioned events from physical to virtual formats. But this was not easy, with the huge knowledge gap of technology savviness a lot was required to learn and we saw Zoom, Google and other such companies popping up with their digitalized services for work and holding every sort of a meeting, conference or a simple training session online.

New breed of event professionals are in the making now who believe that virtual and hybrid are here to stay for long and large scale safe events might only start by 2023, so they are taking it as an opportunity to Reskill, Redesign and Innovate everything Virtually with far more technology involved and are moving forward to change the face of the Event Industry.
